The project “Accelerate the Elimination of Child Labour: Improving Working Conditions and Empowering Families in Jasmine Supply Chain in Egypt” (ACCEL Egypt) aims to reduce and eliminate child Labour in the jasmine supply chain in Egypt. This project is aligned with the National Action Plan (NAP) for Combating the Worst Forms of Child Labour and Supporting Families (2018-2025), which seeks to address child labour by improving living conditions and providing educational and protective measures for at-risk children. The project targets 1,200 farmers and provides training for families to start their own sustainable alternative income generating activities using ILO GET-AHEAD entrepreneurship tool. Moreover, the project aims to strengthen child rehabilitation through ILO Supporting Child Rights through Education, Arts and Media (SCREAM) programme for around 2,500 children. The project targets 7 villages in Gharbia governorate: Shubra Beloula, Nabas, Nagrig, Sorad, ElSerw, Kom at Naggar and Ayari.
