Dear Sir/Madame, The World Trade Organization (WTO) is planning to launch an RFP in early January 2025 to procure a platform specifically designed and customized for research and discovery of the WTO's complex body of work as well as hosting, maintenance, hotline, and development services. Such platform shall offer features that ensure compliance with specific needs, such as multilingualism (English, French, Spanish), book series management and association, customized title metadata and subscription models. The purpose of this notice is to inform potential bidders a demonstrated experience in the field of the upcoming procurement opportunity. THIS IS NOT A FORMAL CALL FOR TENDERS AND THERE ARE NO COMMITMENTS WITH RESPECT TO ANY FUTURE PURCHASES OR CONTRACT. THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS PRE-BID NOTICE IS TO INFORM THE MARKET OF A FUTURE CALL FOR TENDER (EXPECTED TO BE LAUNCHED ON 10 JANUARY 2025). Please see below brief introduction: 1.1. The World Trade Organization (WTO) deals with the global rules of trade between nations. Its main function is to ensure that trade flows as smoothly, predictably and as freely as possible. The WTO is a forum for governments to negotiate trade agreements. It is a place for them to settle trade disputes. It operates a system of trade rules. More information on the WTO can be obtained on the WTO website at www.wto.org. 1.2. The WTO iLibrary currently has over 400 subscribers across 50 countries. The iLibrary regularly attracts over 30,000 users per month. This is a combination of registered users (subscribers), who have access to all aspects of the iLibrary, and non-subscribing registered (over 6,000) and non-registered users accessing the information on a read-only basis. In order to participate to our procurement exercises, you are requested to register in the United Nations Global Marketplace (UNGM) website. The system provides registered companies with secure access to information enabling them to participate in WTO tenders such as Expression of Interest (EOI), Request for Quotation (RFQ), Invitation to Bid (ITB) and Request for Proposal (RFP). Procedures on how to register are available on the UNGM website under the FAQs tab. For your ease of reference, please find attached the instructions on how to register in the UNGM and how to access WTO tenders.
