Expression of Interest for the establishment of Global LTAs for the provision of Translation services

ProcureProcess - WFP Others Non Governmental 2025-03-20 to 2025-03-28
The WFP Translation and Documentation Branch seeks Expressions of Interest from service providers for the establishment of Long-Term Agreements for the provision of translation services. For the implementation of its activities, WFP produces documentation in a wide range of areas, part of which is translated, mainly in the UN official languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Spanish and Russian). Some other languages, such as Hungarian, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian and Ukrainian, are also required on an ad-hoc basis. While WFP has its own internal translation services, these are mainly dedicated to the translation of official documentation for the WFP Executive Board in its four languages (Arabic, English, French and Spanish) and are therefore not in a position to process the entire translation demand of the Organization. The services required focus primarily on the translation from English into Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish and Russian. Other language pairs with these languages, particularly for translations into English, translation services from and into Portuguese and Italian and other Eastern European languages as listed above could be requested on an ad-hoc basis. These services may also include the revision of translated texts as well as the incorporation of changes made on the originals into already translated documents. Three main job lots are under consideration for the Expression of Interest: a. Legal material: this includes the translation of international agreements, memoranda of understanding, contracts, constituent documents, policy or administrative documents, legislative instruments, and any other documents of a legal nature. b. Communications and publications: this includes communications material generally produced for release to the general public either in publication form or articles posted on the WFP website, wfp.org, about activities carried out by WFP. This material generally forms part of WFP’s overall communications strategy towards various audiences including its donors and engaged stakeholders and should therefore be adapted accordingly. c. Generic documentation: this lot includes a wide range of documentation, produced mainly for internal purposes. It would particularly cover training material (guidance, manuals, etc.), internal communications and other documentation addressed to WFP staff. WFP invites eligible suppliers to express their interest in providing the requested services.
