Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a global public health problem that threatens the achievements of universal health coverage and the Sustainable Development Goals. AMR is driven by numerous complex factors; however, the leading causes are attributed to overuse and misuse of antimicrobials. Measuring and analysing the consumption of antimicrobials provides critical information for the development of policies and strategies to strengthen antimicrobial stewardship. Thereof, antimicrobial consumption (AMC) surveillance is a priority area of the Framework for Accelerating Action to Fight Antimicrobial Resistance in the Western Pacific Region. To address this priority, the WHO Regional Office for the Western Pacific (WPRO) launched the Western Pacific Regional Antimicrobial Consumption Surveillance System (WPRACSS) in 2019. The WPRACSS web-portal is designed to support Member States (MS) to capture data on AMC at national, hospital and community pharmacy levels. WHO launched the WPRACSS web-portal in September 2023 which is accessible to registered national focal points. The portal was designed that depending on capacity and their available systems, each Member State can participate in one or more modules: national, hospital and community. Each module is distinct and serves a specific purpose that is connected to a unique methodology for the collection, analysis and visualisation of AMC data. The WHO Office in the Western Pacific Region supports Member States to set-up systems and strengthens capacity for surveillance of antimicrobial consumption. Please use Tender Notice No. 250070 as subject to all submission. Only successful candidates will be contacted. Please refer to attached RFP for details of the requirement.
