United Nations Educational, Science and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) hereby invite qualified companies to submit sealed tenders as follows: to carry out a mid-term review of the framework “ESD for 2030”. The offeror will be expected to review: Overall progress in ESD, including quantitative and qualitative information on ESD progress and impact, especially in the five priority action areas (policy, learning environments, building capacities of educators, youth and local level action); Progress of ESD for 2030 implementation in members states through country initiatives. Impact of ESD on overall SDG4 and other SDGs – to what extent ESD is effectively transforming education; Progress of ESD for 2030 implementation through the activities of partner organizations of ESD-Net, including a review of progress at national, regional, and global levels, including the relevance of current partners and potential new ones to be considered; The impact of the Greening Education Partnership and the GPE funded Climate Smart Education  System Initative as well as the UNESCO-Japan Prize on ESD in advancing ESD for 2030,   in particular on curricula, school environments and a whole school and whole of community approach to ESD. Relevance of topics focused during the first phase (e.g. sustainability competencies, climate change, sustainability lifestyles…) and emerging areas needing attention until 2030.  Impact of UNESCO on the advancement of ESD and the relevance of support given by UNESCO Secretariat to Member States and ESD practitioners. Impact on projects and activities undertaken by the UNESCO Associated School Network and other UNESCO networks including the UNESCO Biosphere reserves and Geoparks The assignment will be performed between January 2025 and July 2025 (6 months).
