The following scope is planned under this grant. Harvesting Surface Water and Watershed Management System through Cash for Work (CFW) Advocacy Activities for Water Harvesting in the Community The following locations in Kushk-e-Robat Sangi District, Herat Province, are planned under this grant. Darwish - Latitude: 34.8053913 / Longitude: 62.2274017 Mish Mast Olya - Latitude: 34.8604668 / Longitude: 622915599 Chardara (Sanjari) - Latitude: 34. 91412791 / Longitude: 62.2351366 Khalifa Rahmat Sofla - Latitude: 34.7834602 / Longitude: 62.2887226 Khwaja Gulbid - Latitude: 34.8535659 / Longitude: 62.1129546 Faizullahi Olya - Latitude: 34.9433205 / Longitude : 62.3854613 Note: that while preliminary endorsement from the Department of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock and community elders was obtained, there is a risk in the change of project locations depending on technical assessments or further coordination with stakeholders. By providing short-term employment, this project offers immediate financial relief to vulnerable communities while simultaneously building long-term water conservation infrastructure in the communities affected by the earthquake. This dual approach enhances water availability, improves agricultural productivity and strengthens climate resilience. Moreover, the program fosters community empowerment, reduces migration pressures and promotes sustainable water management practices. In the long run, it contributes to poverty reduction, food security, and improved livelihoods, making it a vital strategy for post-earthquake recovery, economic growth and environmental conservation, ensuring a more sustainable and resilient future.
