The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) invites qualified bidders to submit their Expression of Interest (EOI) to participate in the upcoming competitive bidding exercise for the exhaustion, cleaning, desludging and degreasing of septic tanks, ponds and grease traps at UNON offices, Gigiri complex Nairobi, Kenya. The intended outcome of the upcoming tender process is to award a contract for the services for an initial period of 3 years with the option to extend for 2 additional periods of 1 year each (3+1+1) SCOPE OF WORKS The works shall consist mostly of the following: i. Liquification of accumulated floating material through auguring in oxidation ponds and septic tanks ii. Suction, transportation and disposal of waste (septage, scum, sludge) to designated and approved waste treatment facility iv. Degreasing of grease interceptors/traps v. Cleaning of oil interceptors vi. Provision of service reports upon completion vii. Inspection of septic tank condition and observed issues viii. Cleaning inlet and outlet pipes where necessary ix. Ensuring proper reinstatement of covers and site cleanup after the service The approximate volumes of the septic tanks are as follows: Main Septic - 1000 Cubic Metres Annex Septic - 320 Cubic Metres Recreation Center - 250 Cubic Metres Prefabs - 68 Cubic Metres Oxidation Ponds - 8650 Cubic Metres Fire Station Septic - 65 Cubic Metres Pavilion Septic - 45 Cubic Metres Eastern Car park - 2.5 Cubic Metres Office Blocks 1-6 - 450 Cubic Metres Satellite Septic tank - 300 Cubic Metres The Contractor shall ensure that existing services are not interrupted. All existing services shall remain operational, either through protection or re-routing. Temporary re-routing of existing services is allowed, with approval and under guidelines of the UNON representative
