To develop a practical and implementable Allied Health Workforce (AHW) blueprint for Malaysia that provides, short (1-3 years), medium (4-7 years) and long term (8-10 years) directions for planning, recruitment, allocation, development and effective leadership, support, governance, and utilization of allied health professionals for a health system that effectively meets the future health needs of all people in Malaysia. The AHW Blueprint will • Support a shared vision and understanding of the value of allied health in meeting the future health needs of people in Malaysia, enabling the optimization of its contribution to the health care sector particularly through the delivery of strong integrated and people centred primary health care. • Provide strategic guidance to The Federal and State Governments in Malaysia, health professional bodies and other organizations on supply, structuring, strengthening, and supporting the allied health workforce for the future, optimizing availability, distribution integration and utilization in line with needs. • Facilitate the allied health workforce’s contribution to quality effective person centred and value-based health services including shifts towards multidisciplinary team based primary and community health care delivered closer to where people live and work. • Act as a roadmap including defining the actions, tasks and steps that can be implemented and evaluated to assess progress and success.
