BACKGROUND The World Health Organization (WHO), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS), is implementing activities under the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Climate-Health Programme to strengthen climate-resilient health systems in Solomon Islands. Kirakira Hospital, the main referral facility in Makira-Ulawa Province, plays a critical role in delivering essential healthcare services. A recent Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) assessment identified major deficiencies in water supply, sanitation facilities, hygiene infrastructure, and wastewater management systems. These deficiencies pose risks to infection prevention and control (IPC), patient safety, and service delivery. WHO seeks to engage a qualified contractor to undertake comprehensive WASH infrastructure improvement works at Kirakira Hospital. OBJECTIVES OF THE ACTIVITY To rehabilitate and upgrade WASH infrastructure at Kirakira Hospital to ensure: Safe and reliable water supply Functional sanitation and hygiene facilities Improved wastewater management systems Compliance with IPC standards and national regulations Enhanced patient and staff safety Please use the subject line WHO Bid Reference "WPRO/2026-07/SLB/306027" in all email submissions.
