Context The ILO is participating in a joint UN Project (JP) “Sustainable pineapple value chain development in Suriname”, funded by the UN Joint SDG. The Programme is implemented by FAO, UNIDO, ILO and UNFPA as part of the broader Agrifood Systems Transformation Accelerator (ASTA). The ILO’s role in this project is to strengthen both individual and collective entrepreneurship in the pineapple sector. The ILO has provided a Training of Trainers to the Ministries of Labour and Agriculture in 2024.]. The purpose of this expression of interest is to identify a consultancy company that can help with the creation of national pineapple cooperative. This will include bringing about direct training and coaching to (board) members of the new, and supporting entities, of National Cooperative of Pineapple Producers and local associations working in the same sector (processors/producers). These activities will be carried out in close collaboration with the relevant government institutions responsible for cooperative development, including the Council for Cooperatives (RACO) under the Ministry of Health and Labour, as well as the Ministry of Agriculture.
