The UNOPS Water, Environment and Climate (WEC) Portfolio supports the design and management of multi-stakeholder initiatives by providing services in financial and grant management, procurement, human resources, and project management. The Portfolio has supported projects in the areas of marine and freshwater resources management, climate change adaptation, mitigation and transparency, energy access and distribution, and environmental conservation. UNOPS is the executing agency for the UNEP GEF SCS-SAP Project. The UNEP/ GEF/ UNOPS Implementing the Strategic Action Programme for the South China Seas and Gulf of Thailand (SCS-SAP) Project aims to assist countries in meeting coastal and marine environmental targets and strengthening regional coordination for ecosystems conservation. To scale conservation initiatives at the community level, the SCS-SAP Project is providing conservation grants ranging from USD5,000 to USD50,000 to community-centered marine and coastal ecosystems projects in Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Viet Nam.
