The Data Quality Unit of the FAO Statistics Division is responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating the FAO Statistics and Data Quality Assurance Framework (SDQAF), and for promoting its adoption across the Organization. The Framework is complemented by a set of policies and statistical standards that address specific technical and procedural aspects of its implementation. As the custodian of the FAO SDQAF, the Unit also carries the overarching mandate to foster a culture of data quality within the Organization. This involves raising awareness, strengthening knowledge, and building capacity on best practices and principles that ensure the production of high-quality data and statistical outputs to support evidence-based decision-making in food and agriculture. While the Unit brings strong methodological and technical expertise in the development of quality frameworks and standards, it seeks to collaborate with an institution specialized in statistical training design and delivery to leverage its experience in knowledge transfer and communication. This collaboration aims to transform existing technical content into clear, engaging, and accessible learning materials, thereby enhancing the effectiveness and outreach of FAO’s internal and external capacity development initiatives on quality assurance in official statistics. In pursuit of the objectives discussed above, the service provider will be required to design and develop a comprehensive package of training materials on quality assurance in official statistics, with particular emphasis on the frameworks, procedures, and approaches adopted by international organizations such as the FAO.
