1. GPSS in Entebbe, Uganda intends to establish a long term contract for the supply and delivery of timber and related products on an "as and when required basis".The aniticipated contract will be for an initial period of two (2) years with the option to extend for three one-year periods for peacekeeping missions, political missions and any other entities in the UN system. 2. GPSS is encouraging vendors that can meet the dynamic supply chains requirements that are reliable, responsive, agile and cost effective to express interest in participating in the solicitation exercise with a view to provide fast delivery response time to UN. 3. Below are estimated annual requirements while actual requirements will be reflected on each purchase order issued. Lot 1 Timber (hard and soft) with various dimensions ranging from 20mmx20mmx5m to 300mmx50mmx4m. Estimated annual quantity of 29,000 pieces. Lot 2 Plywood and chipboard of various thickness ranging from 6mm to 30mm and sizes 1200mmx2400mm; MDF and HDF boards.Estimated annual quantity of 13,000 pieces. The detailed descriptions of the required items will be in the solicitation document to be issued after the closing of the REOI. The quantities in both this REOI and solicitation document are estimated quantities and the actual required quantities will be indicated on purchase orders to be issued after contract award. The most likely INCOTERMS 2010 will be FCA (Port of Exit), DAP Entebbe, Mombasa, Juba and Abyei. Bidder will be at liberty to choose any preferred option or both. Deliveries will be made in 20-feet containers (new or used ) or optimized truck loads. Timber shall be either softwood or hardwood from a responsibly managed forest or plantation that is preferably Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified; where this is not available, ensure that the timber is at a minimum from a known Licensed source and bidders will be required to disclose details of their sources in the offers.
