The purpose of this Request for Proposals is to identify a suitable contractor to carry out all or only part of the following work: 1) To perform a comprehensive literature review of the existing evidence on commercial video games and health and uncover current research gaps and formulate research questions to fill these gaps. This work aims to bolster the evidence base and provide a clear picture of the current knowledge in the field as well as kick-start the process of identifying and filling knowledge gaps. 2) To support WHO in convening virtual meetings with multidisciplinary experts around the world to develop recommendations and key principles for healthy gaming standards for game developers. This work aims to improve the way games are developed to better align with public health goals. 3) To provide WHO with strategic advice on the video games and esports markets, key individuals and connectios to these individuals. The aim of this assignment is to act as a sounding board and a guide for WHO in shaping this initiative in a way that resonates with gaming communities.
