Dear Bidder, The International Labour Office (ILO) is looking for an individual to undertake work as an External Collaborator. Below is a summary of the work to be performed: To oversee rural transport infrastructure works and capacity building, aligning with climate-resilient, inclusive, and decent work principles in East Sepik and Sandaun Provinces. Project Supervision and Management: The role involves managing three contracts for drainage structure works and five for road rehabilitation/spot improvements. Responsibilities include ensuring quality control, compliance with technical standards, and adherence to social and environmental safeguards, as well as the ILO Decent Work Agenda. The collaborator will handle work planning, site inspections, payment certification, and progress reporting, providing technical oversight to deliver climate-resilient infrastructure. This includes drainage structures and roads that enhance market access for cocoa, vanilla, and fisheries value chains, supporting rural livelihoods and economic inclusion in PNG’s Sepik region. Capacity Building: The collaborator will provide hands-on mentorship to young graduate engineers, contractor supervisors, community workers, and ILO national engineers. Training focuses on quality control, occupational safety, contract administration, and community engagement, emphasizing gender inclusivity and youth participation. This strengthens local technical and management capacities, ensuring sustainable infrastructure maintenance and alignment with project goals.
