Under the overall supervision of the National Project Coordinator and in close collaboration with the ILO’s Cooperatives Unit, the Enterprises Specialist, and the ACCEL Africa Chief Technical Advisor (CTA), Regional Office for Africa, the Consultant will be responsible for designing and delivering a Training of Trainers (ToT) on Cooperative Development using ILO tools. The objective of the assignment is to strengthen cooperative organizations within Kenya’s coffee and tea sectors—specifically in Kericho, Kisii, Meru, and Nyeri—by enhancing the capacity of trainers to promote equitable, sustainable, and child-labour-free cooperative enterprises. The Consultant will prepare and adapt training materials, conduct two 12-day ToT workshop for up to 50 participants, and develop related tools, including pre- and post-training assessments, evaluation templates, and a draft action plan for future training initiatives. The assignment further includes supporting participant selection, providing logistical guidance, planning post-training coaching sessions, and submitting detailed training and financial reports, including participant assessments and recommendations for follow-up capacity-building activities.
