The services being sourced will support the field assessment and stakeholder consultations components of the project “Accelerating agri-food system transformation in the Asia-Pacific region through promoting biodiversity mainstreaming and traditional knowledge on nature-positive food production”. The service provider will: Develop a background paper on Silvania molesta invasion threat in Thale Noi GIAHS covering General overview of Thailand’s invasive species of Silvania molesta, including nation-wide damages and costs from literature review Stock taking S. molesta prevention and control measures including potential nature-based solution (e.g. buffalos as potential control mechanism) Identify current policy gaps and priorities to support community-driven landscape management for better control of Thailand’s invasive species, building on the experience of Thale Noi wetland Technical recommendations regarding improvement of current policy, control mechanisms and incentivizing for IPLC involvement and leadership. Conduct targeted consultation meetings that engage national and sub-national stakeholders, with a particular focus on community-level insights and integrated management approaches related to S. molesta control and biodiversity-friendly agricultural practices in the Thale Noi GIAHS site. The purpose of these consultations is to: Validate and enrich the findings of Output 1 (background paper) Support the integration of local perspectives into Thailand’s emerging IAS technical guidance and biosecurity measures. Lay the groundwork for future inclusion of GIAHS landscapes within Thailand’s OECM framework Identify opportunities to promote IPLC leadership in biodiversity mainstreaming within agrifood sectors including relating to IAS control and landscape management aspects.
