WHO requires the successful bidder, the Contractor, to organize a 3-day community workshop on Teraina Island, with participants from each of the nine villages. The workshop will focus on conducting community assessments using Focus Group Discussions (FGD) in the Kiribati language, with translations into English. Following the workshop, a village tour and inspection will take place. The Contractor will assist communities in developing adaptation action plans and project proposals based on the needs assessment conducted during the workshop. Additionally, the project aims to help communities develop and implement climate-resilient drinking water and sanitation safety plans (WSSP) through assessments and training. Interventions to reduce food insecurity and nutrient deficiencies will be implemented, including sustainable agriculture practices, food storage and preservation, community gardens, and nutrition education programs. The project also includes integrated vector control measures, such as community-led cleanups and a "Cleanest Village Competition," as well as support for the local primary school in implementing gardening activities. Monitoring and evaluation mechanisms will be established to ensure effective project implementation.
