2. SCOPE OF WORK The main objective of the assignment is to support the Ministry of Education and Training in developing a new curriculum for Grades 4 - 7. The consultancy will cover three (3) phases: PHASE 1 # conduct a feasibility study for the new curriculum for Grade 4-7. - This work will include conducting stakeholder consultations focusing on curriculum gap analysis; desk review and alignment of Grade 4 # 7 curriculum with industry needs and global standards (as well as with the completed Grade 1 -3 curriculum). PHASE 2- work with MoET in developing a new curriculum for Grades 4-7. Key processes will include: - Develop a manual to guide curriculum development processes within NCDC and capacity development of the National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC) personnel and subject panels on new curriculum development processes. - Develop scope and sequence charts, syllabi, schemes of work, lesson plans and timetables for teachers - Collaborate and mentor NCDC and subject panels in conducting the development of the new curriculum for Grades 4 -7. PHASE 3: The institutional contract will support NCDC in piloting the new curriculum. This work will involve: - providing technical support to NCDC to prepare training materials for use in conducting professional development of teachers, principals, district resource teachers (DRT), subject advisors on piloting the new curriculum. - Provide technical support to NCDC and subject panels in the development of teaching and learning materials (teachers# guide and learner workbooks) for the new curriculum both in digitization and print.
