EOI 001/2025: Expression of Interest (EOI). Provision of Rice Fortification Services in Mombasa and Nairobi, Kenya.

The United Nations World Food Programme (UNWFP) is the food-assistance agency of the United Nations and is the world's largest humanitarian organization addressing hunger and promoting food security. In order to complement its operations in Kenya, UNWFP seeks to engage companies with the pre-requisite capacity to receive,store, fortify, bag and load for subsequent transport, rice imported by UNWFP. The companies to be engaged will need to comply with the following minimum criteria: 1. Have a minimum of 3 years operational experience. 2. Geographical location of the rice milling plant should either be in Mombasa or Nairobi County. companies based in Thika town of Kiambu County will also be considered. 3. Fortification capacity of 1,000 mt per day. 4. In possession of any of the following certification. -ISO 9001: 2015 -ISO 2200:2018 -FSSC-22000 5. Have an inhouse lab for testing. 6.Sufficient warehouse space for storage of fortified rice (capacity of 500 mt). 7. Capacity to initate a  lead time of 24-48 hrs of having a finished product  after arrival of rice and bags markings. 8. Capacity to undertake rice fortification 9. Capacity to take custody and arrange for disposal using relevant internal procedures of any product not for human consumption extracted from the fortification process.   UNWFP invites qualified rice millingand fortification companies who are duly registered and authorized in accordance with prevailing laws in Kenya to submit their information for consideration for shortlisting. Procedure of participation in the shortlisting process. 1.Potential companies that feel they meet the outlined requirements must confirm their interest by filling a registration form.   2.The registration form will be accessed by visiting the following site:   https://forms.office.com/e/AHC4VuEZjM   3. The online registration form must be filled by 1200 hrs. on 15 April 2025. 4.Only interested parties who will provide their details via the registration form will be invited to participate in the tendering process. 5.Kindly note that no documents are required at this stage, companies that express interest by registering will be contacted at a later stage to provide required documentation as well as be provided with further information on the shortlisting procedure.   Please note that this is not an invitation to tender, nor does it imply automatic selection to our shortlist of companies offering fortification services . No rates/prices/documents are required at this stage and this invitation does not bind the World Food Programme to issue any tenders or contracts to the companies expressing their interest.
