The World Health Organization Philippines implemented the project “Strengthening Health Care Provider Network with Enhanced Linkage to Community for Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH),” otherwise known as the Subnational Initiative Phase 2 (SNIP2). SNIP2 was implemented in collaboration with the Department of Health (DOH) and the Centers for Health Development (CHD) in Caraga, Davao and Western Visayas regions, with funding support from the Republic of Korea through the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Philippines. The objective of SNIP2 was to improve the health systems toward better maternal, child, and adolescent health across the three (3) regions. The project aimed to achieve the following outcomes: Supported communities to develop effective approaches to essential health services for RMNCAH Strengthened governance and management for the responsiveness of the health care provider network (HCPN) Sustained and scaled up the initial gains in Region XI from the Subnational Initiative Phase 1 (SNIP1) SNIP2 was implemented in Agusan del Sur in the Caraga Region and Aklan int Western Visayas Region as expansion sites for SNI Phase 1, and in the Davao Region for sustainability and upscaling of the initiatives of SNIP1.
