The main objective of this assignment is to undertake a rapid assessment on social protection access to care workers including migrant care workers in Andhra Pradesh by mapping existing SP schemes and skilling initiatives for care workers in the state and assess if these are extended to migrant care workers. Based on the findings of the rapid assessment, a policy brief with recommendations to improve existing social protection schemes or develop new measures to address care needs will be developed and shared with government and relevant stakeholders. The findings will inform a key stakeholder dialogue planned in April 2026 to arrive at a set of recommendations for policy and scheme design to enable better access to social protection for migrant care workers.
