Dear Bidder, The International Labour Office (ILO) is looking for an individual to undertake work as an External Collaborator. Below is a summary of the work to be performed: The International Labour Organization (ILO) and International Trade Centre (ITC) are undertaking a sector selection study, in collaboration with the Swedish Embassy in Ethiopia. Initial desk research and analysis has already been conducted to narrow down the scope to a longlist of 5 sectors (teff value-added products; leather products; forestry and wood manufacturing; waste management and recycling; ICT & BPO). This assignment will focus on supporting ILO to conduct additional targeted desk research and primary research covering each of the five sectors in order to 1) finalize the assessment of the 5 long-listed sectors relative to 3 selection criteria; and 2) identify the two highest potential sectors best suited for project implementation. Specific tasks expected are: advising on research strategy; conducting targeted desk research; establishing longlist of key informants; arranging, preparing and attending virtual meetings with key informants (min. 2 per sector); providing context-relevant reflections on KIIs; providing inputs into sector selection study drafted by ILO. The level of effort is 10 working days, with outputs due by 30th September 2026 and final payment thereafter. If you are interested, please express interest and follow the instructions attached to consult the detailed terms of reference and other relevant information in the ILO e-sourcing platform. Please submit your proposal before the specified deadline. Thank you.
