The purpose of this assignment is to develop and update e-Learning resources and the platform in support of OceanTeacher Global Academy (OTGA) training activities, trainers, and courses. The OceanTeacher Global Academy (OTGA) is a Programme Component of the International Oceanographic Data and Information Exchange (IODE) of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of UNESCO delivering trainings covering a range of topics to address the priority areas of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development and 2030 Agenda and its SDGs as well as to support the implementation of the IOC Capacity Development Strategy. A global network of OTGA Regional and Specialized Training Centres has been established to deliver specific training that will assist Member States in achieving the SDGs as well as emerging topics in ocean science, services, and management. OTGA will foster collaborations beyond UNESCO/IOC to position itself as the training platform for ocean-related topics within the UN and beyond. OTGA supports coordination and management of training courses and alumni; a shared e-learning platform (Moodlebased); creation of learning resources and activities; mechanisms for connecting with experts, facilitators, and training centers; guidance on learning services procedures and standards; and training staff exchange and internships.
