IIn line with the UNESCO Guidelines for the Governance of Digital Platforms, the activity seeks to advance policy advocacy and targeted research to strengthen national frameworks and promote a rights-based, multi-stakeholder approach to online governance. The initiative contributes to UNESCO’s broader efforts to support Member States, civil society, and digital actors in aligning platform governance with international human rights standards. Implemented under the Multi-Donor Programme on Freedom of Expression and the Safety of Journalists (MDP), it further reinforces ongoing support to journalists, civil society, and policymakers in addressing barriers to freedom of expression and access to information in the digital sphere.
