Public credibility of the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District Assembly is declining due in part to its inability to oversee effective programming across the district’s large surface area (7,500 km2). A dearth of mobility resources is leading to ineffective tax collection, absenteeism among teachers, and reduced supervision of environmental and sanitation programs in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba district. CSSM will provide the District Assembly with ten in-kind motorcycles to raise visibility of the District Assembly initiatives and oversee district activities, which will create goodwill and establish positive relations with the local authorities in a new programming location.
