Development objectives: To improve access of women and girls in hard-to-reach areas to integrated SRH and GBV services and information through innovative digital health solutions in the Somali region of Ethiopia, in collaboration with the government partners and a private company. Immediate Objective:- To install and operate a digital maternity package Nogob Zone of Somali Region to deliver quality integrated SRH service and information through a mobile health clinic from June 2025 to January 2026. Output: Quality integrated SRH service and formation is delivered through a mobile health clinic equipped with a digital maternity package in Nogob zone of Somali region. Activities:- Activities include but are not necessarily limited to the following tasks:- - To provide a digital Activities: Activities include but are not necessarily limited to the following tasks. To provide a digital maternity package including customised software, portable ultrasound probes, and smartphones for the following purposes; i. Early identification of high-risk pregnant women at the earliest ii. Continuous follow-up through the digitised data management iii. Delivery of quality antenatal care iv. Diagnostic support v. Remote consultation o A minimum requirement of a digital maternity package: to include customized software, three portable ultrasound probes, and six smartphones to be used by 12 trained health service providers (working at a mobile health clinic in the Somali region of Ethiopia. To set up a local server for data management in collaboration with the government partners/a local supplier o Set up a local server: to assess potential suppliers and make a contract with a selected supplier. To conduct a customised training on a digital maternity package for health service providers and the relevant government officers in the country/regional-specific context o Capacity building: to target 12 health service providers on a digital maternity package (at least) through training and technical support in-person and remotely during the contract period to ensure sustainable health service quality. To provide local server operation support and software support To assess, monitor, and evaluate the implementation of a digital maternity package in the country/regional-specific context Evaluation: to suggest a sustainable intervention and/or an approach on utilising innovative digital health solutions to deliver integrated SRH and GBV services and information effectively and efficiently in the hard-to-reach areas of Ethiopia. Methodology:- The following combination of methods are recommended to answer the objectives set in this documentation of practices. Assessment: Conducting an assessment through a comprehensive desk review of the Japan-funded project concept note, UNFPA Country Program, relevant national strategies, program plans, reports, SRH and SRH standard guidelines, and other relevant documents. Preparation for installing a digital maternity package : Setting up a software and a local server to install a digital maternity package to localize it in the country/regional specific contexts. Capacity building of health service providers and the relevant government partners: Conducting an on-site training and following up with the participants to assure the appropriate use of a digital maternity package in collaboration with the government partners. Installation of a digital maternity package: Install a digital maternity package as a part of service delivery through a mobile health clinic through continuous technical support.
