1.0 The United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) invites eligible and qualified companies to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the provision of disposal & recycling services for Electronic Waste at UNAMI Premises in Baghdad, Erbil, Kirkuk, and Kuwait. E-waste shall be Collected, Transported and recycled, including IT equpment (e.g., laptops, phones, monitors, desktops, printers, and hand-held radios ) and white goods (e.g., washing machines, dryers, air conditioners), ensuring full traceability and compliance with environmental regulations. The solicitation will be based on detailed Statement of Works (SOW), Technical Specifications, UN General Conditions of Contracts and other related documents which will be provided by UNAMI to all companies who respond to this EOI and qualify for the tender. 2.0 REQUIREMENTS: 2.1 The current estimated quantity of e-waste is as follows: a.Baghdad – 7 sea containers b.Erbil – 5 sea containers c.Kirkuk – 1 sea container d. Kuwait – 1 sea container 2.2 Provide secure and certified destruction of data-bearing devices in accordance with ISO standards. 2.3 Ensure that e-waste is processed through environmentally sound methods, preventing landfill disposal and incineration. 2.4 Manage the logistics of e-waste collection, including storage at designated UN sites and subsequent shipment to an approved recycling facility. 2.5 Provide all necessary documentation, including ISO-certified recycling certificates, shipment tracking records, and reports on the recycling process. 2.6 Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including local permits and international e-waste disposal guidelines 3.0 The following practices are prohibited under this contract: 3.1 Incineration of e-waste materials. 3.2 Disposal of e-waste in landfills. 3.3 Export of e-waste to non-certified recycling facilities. 3.4 Processing e-waste without providing necessary documentation and certification. 3.5 Mishandling of hazardous components such as batteries and refrigerant gases. 4.0 The Interested Companies are requested to submit their EOI, including the following details: 4.1 Company profile, including relevant experience and certifications. 4.2 Description of e-waste recycling processes and compliance mechanisms. 4.3 Logistics and operational capabilities for handling e-waste collection and disposal. 4.4 References and past project details related to e-waste recycling 5.0 Minimum Requirements Interested companies must meet the following requirements: 5.1 Demonstrated experience in e-waste recycling and disposal, with references from similar projects. 5.2 Possession of Environmental Certifications (e.g., ISO 14001, R2, e-Stewards) ensuring adherence to environmental and safety standards. 5.3 Capability to provide end-to-end logistics and disposal solutions, including necessary export permits if required. Financial and technical capacity to manage e-waste for at least one of the UNAMI facilities in Iraq and Kuwait 6.0 Please note the following: a) This EOI is not an invitation for submission of a bid/proposal. b) UNAMI reserves the right in selecting the invitees for the bidding based on substantial and proven records of performance in the subject field of activities and mere expressing an interest would not automatically warrant for tender document. c) UNAMI reserves the right to reject EOIs received after the above deadline
