Description Of Services he World Food Programme Headquarters is located in Rome, Via Cesare Giulio Viola 68/70. The number of WFP Staff working in the Headquarters is around 1.400. Other people, guests of the WFP employees, visit Headquarters daily. WFP currently subcontracts its catering services to two contractors who operate in two different areas: a Canteen & Cafeteria located on the ground floor, between the Blue and Yellow Towers, and a Cafeteria-Restaurant (named Red Café) on the ground floor of the Red Tower. The Contractors are occasionally requested to support special and high-level events; the latter are organized by WFP Executive Staff with Donors and other WFP Partners. HQ staff can also avail of a farmers market stand three days per week and of vending machines and free water distributors. Specifically, the vending machines offer hot drinks (coffee, tea, cappuccino, barley coffee, etc.), cold drinks (coke, water, fruit juice, etc.) and snacks.  WFP is now welcoming Expression of Interest  for the provision of catering services, precisely Canteen and Cafeteria. The services described in this tender have been available to WFP Staff and visitors since January 1998, when WFP HQ moved to its current location. The new Contract will be for an initial period of four (4) years with the option to extend for two further periods of two (2) years each. The main objectives and criteria that will lead the tender process are:              Improve the current service and the client experience              Propose a refurbishment of the free-flow area and kitchen, in line with the proposed service.              Reasonable prices and reduced waiting time              Safeguard the canteen users and employees’ health              Promote the local patrimonio agroalimentare              Guarantee the cooking and presentation of the food in a healthy and appealing way, applying the best practices, according to the Mediterranean diet              Optimize resources, minimize waste, and reduce the environmental impact. WFP is looking for a Contractor who will share a high-quality catering model, especially in terms of health, according to the principles of the Mediterranean diet, recognized as “Immaterial World Heritage” from UNESCO in 2010.   WFP is seeking Expressions of Interest from companies that are interested and capable of providing the subject goods and services. Subsequent to the prequalification process, WFP will be issuing a tender to firms which fulfil the minimum requirements.
