Description: The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) invites eligible and legally registered non‑profit organizations, governmental institutions, intergovernmental bodies, academic and research institutions, and other not‑for‑profit entities to submit proposals to conduct a regional assessment on preparedness for compliance with emerging due diligence regulations in South‑East Asia. The assignment aims to analyse the regulatory, institutional and operational readiness of key commodity‑producing countries in the region to meet growing international requirements related to legality, traceability and deforestation‑free supply chains. Given the strong cross‑border trade dynamics and the central role of China in processing and re‑export, the assessment will adopt a regional perspective complemented by country‑ and commodity‑specific case studies. Expected services include a structured desk‑based review of existing due diligence regulations and relevant national systems, stakeholder consultations, assessment of regional and cross‑border supply‑chain information flows, and the preparation of analytical reports with validated findings and recommendations. Deliverables will include an inception note, a draft analytical assessment and a final report designed to inform future dialogue, policy development and targeted technical support. Procurement method: Call for Proposals under FAO Letter of Agreement modality. Estimated value/range: USD 40,000-50,000 (or equivalent). Expected duration: approximately six (6) months. Deadline for submission: 13 February 2026, 17:00 hrs CET (GMT +1).
