Request for Quotation for Rehabilitation and Grid Interconnection of Existing Solar Mini-Grids (SMGs)Project: Renewable Energy for Rural Livelihood (RERL)Reference Number: UNDP/RFQ/13/2026 (UNDP-NPL-00663)UNDP is providing technical support to AEPC to implement the Asian Development Bank (ADB) funded South Asia Subregional Economic Cooperation (SASEC) Power System Expansion Project Off-grid Component. SASEC is promoting 4.3 MW mini-hydropower projects (MHP) and 0.5MW Solar/Solar-Wind Hybrid Minigrids (SMG) to increase access to electricity in rural areas for improving the livelihoods of people by promoting economic activities.One of the key activities under Output 3 includes the allocation of budget for the grid interconnection of Solar Mini-Grid (SMG) projects implemented under the SASEC/ADB program, with the objective of enabling net metering of existing SMGs to enhance their long-term sustainability. This activity is planned to facilitate the grid interconnection of a total of nine SMGs located in different regions of Nepal.The main objective of the assignment is to carry out the grid interconnection of existing Solar Mini-Grid (SMG) systems to the national grid through net metering arrangements, thereby enhancing their operational sustainability and enabling efficient utilization of generated energy. This assignment covers the grid interconnection of nine SMG sub-projects located across different regions of Nepal, namely: Olane Solar Mini-grid (Olane, Panchthar), Ramitekhola Solar Mini-grid (Ramite, Morang), Chisapani SMG (Sindhuli), Mahabu SMG (Mahabu, Dailekh), Gutu Solar Mini-grid (Gutu, Surkhet), Sugarkhal Solar Mini-grid (Sugarkhal, Kailali), Thabang Solar Mini-grid (Thabang, Rolpa), Hilepani Solar Mini-grid (Manebhanjyang, Okhaldhunga), and Susta SMG (Susta).Interested suppliers must submit their offer directly in the system as instructed in the solicitation document, following the instructions in the available user guide. In case you have never registered before, you can register a profile using the registration link shared via the procurement notice and following the instructions in guides available in the UNDP website: https://www.undp.org/procurement/business/resources-for-bidders. Do not create a new profile if you already have one.
