SASEC is promoting 4.3 MW mini-hydropower projects (MHP) and 0.5MW Solar/Solar-Wind Hybrid Minigrids (SMG) to increase access to electricity in rural areas for improving the livelihoods of people by promoting economic activities.One of the key activities under Output 3 includes the allocation of budget for the grid interconnection of Solar Mini-Grid (SMG) projects implemented under the SASEC/ADB program, with the objective of enabling net metering of existing SMGs to enhance their long-term sustainability. This activity is planned to facilitate the grid interconnection of a total of nine SMGs located in different regions of Nepal.The main objective of the assignment is to carry out the grid interconnection of existing Solar Mini-Grid (SMG) systems to the national grid through net metering arrangements, thereby enhancing their operational sustainability and enabling efficient utilization of generated energy.
