Conduct Media Campaign on Hate speech, Disinformation and Incitement (HDMI) awareness .Sri Lanka has recently emerged from a severe economic crisis, with its impact felt across multiple communities, as well as economic, social, and political institutions. The spread of Hate speech, misinformation, disinformation, and incitement, (HDMI) both online and offline in this context adds another layer of concern. Women and girls, especially those in women-headed households, face heightened vulnerabilities as they navigate economic hardships while being bound by religious and cultural expectations. These dynamics disproportionately affect women and children, compounding their struggles during this period of economic recovery and political change.Against this backdrop, it is critical to ensure that conflict-sensitive, timely, and accurate knowledge is generated and disseminated to respond and counter hate speech, disinformation, misinformation and incitement (HDMI). A national-level communications campaign focusing on fostering such communication, particularly in the context of national and sub-national elections, is crucial for safeguarding democratic integrity and enhancing social cohesionObjective;United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Sri Lanka wishes to call for Request for Proposals from qualified service providers to design, conceptualize, execute, and monitor a gender-sensitive and inclusive national communications campaign on legacy media and social media against the spread of hate speech and disinformation in consultation with the UNDP, UNICEF and UN RCO.
