The Government of Ghana has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Greater Accra Resilient and Integrated Development Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Reconstruction of Bridge at Dome Road. The Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the reconstruction of the bridge at Dome Road. The works consist of the demolition of the existing three-cell reinforced concrete box culvert and the construction of a new single-span bridge with elevated deck. The existing structure to be demolished is approximately 12.5m long and 12.0m wide, and is composed of three cells of width varying approximately between 3.5 - 4.5m and height 3.5m, with 0.80m thick separating walls. The new elevated bridge structure to be constructed consists of 27.8m single-span deck, made of Cor-Ten steel beams and reinforced concrete slabs, and reinforced concrete abutments with pile foundations. The works also include the elevation and reinstatement of approaching and surrounding roads affected by the bridge replacement. The contract will be executed within 6 months.
