To develop AS-IS and Gap Analyses on AI in school education within the framework of the project FutureProof Education: Supporting schools in the AI evolution, a multi-region initiative funded by the European Union and implemented by UNESCO in close collaboration with six Beneficiary Authorities: the Flemish Department of Education and Training (Belgium), the Ministry of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation (Belgium), the Ministry of School and Education of North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany), the Department of Education and Youth (Ireland), the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth (Luxembourg), and the Swedish National Agency for Education (Sweden). The project aims to support these authorities in advancing the ethical, meaningful and safe use of AI in school education; the AS-IS and Gap Analyses constitute a core component to establish a context-specific understanding of each education system’s current situation and needs on AI use in schools.
