The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is a specialized agency of the United Nations based in Rome, Italy hereby solicits proposals for the Provision of professional maintenance of green areas at IFAD HQ. Green area maintenance services should include all work, including the provision of tools, equipment, materials and products for use, fertilizers, herbicides and any other products deemed necessary, as well as safety equipment. The objective of this bidding process is to identify a suitable service provider for the provision of professional maintenance of green areas. The Service Provider is expected to: • Be customer service excellent (being proactive, adaptive and responsive). • Undertake activities safely and be cost-effective. • Employ committed and proactive personnel. All the activities to be carried out break down into: • Ordinary activities: Activities, services and supplies included in the amounts remunerated by a fee and defined with reference to the technical specifications of the individual services. Continuous or periodic services provided against payment of an annual fee; • Extraordinary activities: Activities/services that are not included within the ordinary activities remunerated by a fee. These activities/services are carried out on notification or request by IFAD and with prior authorisation from the IFAD Facilities Management Assistant. The payments relating these activities/services are determined in accordance with price lists before application of any discount offered during the call for tenders or in specific estimates. The contract will be in force for one year from 01 April 2025. IFAD may renew the contract for two other periods of two years up to a maximum aggregated duration of the contract of five years. Furthermore, the Service Provider is expected to: • promptly deal with regulatory changes, especially regarding workplace safety • adopt environmentally friendly actions (e.g. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design - LEED) • propose improvements of the service in terms of productivity and staff incentives.
