The aim of Makerspaces is to democratize access to entrepreneurship and innovation for all persons, creating pathways for improved livelihoods. Makerspaces will provide collaborative workspaces for young people to be upskilled and create tangible products or prototypes. The Makerspaces will also provide individuals with the tools, resources, and the environment to bring their ideas to life, with an emphasis on supporting young women, persons with disabilities, persons with low literacy skills and persons living in non-urban areas to test and scale their solutions. These spaces will provide opportunities for experimentation and the creation of tangible products that can be scaled for commercialization, leading to entrepreneurship opportunities and job creation within the states.
