As IOM advances its strategic priorities, DHR plays a critical role in enabling an agile, diverse, and high-performing workforce that can deliver on IOM’s mission in an increasingly complex global context. The workshop provides an opportunity for senior leadership to take stock of progress, address emerging challenges, and collectively set priorities that will guide DHR’s contribution through 2028 and beyond. It will serve as a platform to strengthen shared leadership, clarify roles and responsibilities in light of recent structural shifts, and explore forward-looking approaches to collaboration, innovation, and digitalization, including the responsible use of AI. Through strategic dialogue and alignment, the workshop aims to reinforce DHR’s strategic positioning as a trusted partner and enabler of organizational effectiveness across IOM. In particular, the retreat will: • conduct a deep-dive mid-point review of the People Strategy and identify the successes, challenges and inform key priorities through 2028, including priorities which will contribute to the implementation of the IOM Leadership Development Strategy. • confirm key areas of responsibility given the closure of PAC and the opening of GSSC, including socialization of the new operating model. • referencing the DHR workplan, strengthen DHR internal collaboration and look for opportunity to innovate and leverage AI. One of the global programmes managed by DHR is the IOM Leadership Programme. To ensure its sustainability, a Leadership Development Strategy was delivered by LEAD consultants in 2025. Many of the elements are dependent on coherent and streamlined process in various HR areas such as performance, recruitment, career development, learning, etc. , the in the strategy focus on key HR processes. A key output of this workshop is the prioritization of these processes ensuring that HR processes under both Talent and Care pillars are in step with leadership development. To maintain objectivity, it is ideal for an external Service Provider who has intimate knowledge of the Learning Development Strategy to facilitate this prioritization session would ensure that the discussion would keep to the spirit of the Strategy.
