Description of the Assignment:  Under the supervision of the Director of the Sustainable Energy Hub, the Consultant will be responsible for the following activities: Strategy Development and Implementation·       Contribute to the design of at least 2 strategic frameworks or guidance notes on just energy transition and inclusive energy policy development.·       Develop recommendations for aligning regional energy transition and investment strategies with the SDGs and UNDP Strategic Plan.·       Support the development of one strategic guidance note aligning the SEH’s vision with the Strategic Plan 2026–2029.·       Integrate social equity, gender, and human rights dimensions into energy transition and energy finance strategies, producing at least one guidance input or tool.Technical Expertise and Capacity Building·       Respond to a minimum of 8 requests from UNDP Country Offices and partners with tailored technical inputs, research insights, and policy recommendations.·       Conduct at least 4 assessments or analyses identifying barriers and opportunities for inclusive energy transition.·       Develop 2 sets of training or advisory materials supporting climate finance mechanisms and equitable energy strategies.Policy Analysis, Research, and Knowledge Management·       Produce at least 2 thematic policy notes and contribute to the development or review of 6 policy briefs.·       Draft a minimum of 20 briefing notes to inform UNDP leadership’s engagements and strategic dialogues.·       Conduct at least 4 in-depth analytical briefs on global energy market trends, challenges, or opportunities.·       Manage contributions to two editions of the Energy for Development Bulletin and coordinate at least 5 inputs to regional energy strategies.·       Document at least 5 case studies or success stories highlighting UNDP’s energy portfolio impact.Partnerships, Engagement, and Communication·       Support the facilitation of at least 2 global webinars or knowledge-sharing events.·       Map and document a minimum of 10 relevant global and regional energy partnerships.·       Produce at least 3 communication products (e.g., blogs, articles, campaign briefs) for the Energy for Development initiative.·       Assist in the preparation of presentation decks, talking points, and briefing packs for at least 3 major global engagements.Final Reporting·       Prepare a final knowledge report summarizing key achievements, lessons learned, and policy recommendations based on at least 15 SEH support requests. ·       Contribute to a strategic summary of the alignment between SEH activities and the upcoming Strategic Plan 2026–2029.Period of assignment/services: up to 150 working days over the course of 12 months.Proposal should be submitted directly in the portal no later than indicated deadline.Any request for clarification must be sent in writing via messaging functionality in the portal.
