Call for External Collaborators- Strengthening Technical Capacities of the Labour Department and Social Workers on Child and Forced Labour and Supporting Awareness Campaigns

ProcureProcess - ILO Others Non Governmental 2025-10-13 to 2025-10-21
Dear Bidder, The International Labour Office (ILO) is looking for an individual to undertake work as an External Collaborator. Below is a summary of the work to be performed: The ILO Trade for Decent Work (T4DW) Project has made notable progress in strengthening labour regulations, particularly by supporting updates to Ghana’s Labour Act, 2003 (Act 651). These updates define permissible work for young people: light work for ages 13–15 and non-hazardous work for ages 15–17. In 2023, the project conducted a gap analysis on ILO Conventions No. 189 (Domestic Workers) and No. 190 (Violence and Harassment at Work) to advocate for their ratification. Building on these achievements, the consultant will undertake activities to help eliminate forced labour in domestic work, adapt training tools addressing child labour in agriculture, and enhance stakeholder capacity. Ghana enacted the Domestic Workers Regulation (L.I. 2408) in 2020 but has not yet ratified Convention No. 189. This Convention urges member states to protect domestic workers’ rights, including freedom of association, collective bargaining, elimination of forced and child labour, non-discrimination, and occupational safety and health. The assignment will support sensitization and implementation of measures aligned with these principles. Please note that if travel is required for this assignment, the necessary travel costs will be covered by the ILO. If you are interested, please express interest and follow the instructions attached to consult the detailed terms of reference and other relevant information in the ILO e-sourcing platform. Please submit your proposal before the specified deadline. Thank you.
