EOI - Implementation of Co-Funding Infrastructure Activities in Jubaland State, Somalia

ProcureProcess - IOM Others Non Governmental 2025-11-10 to 2025-11-18
The Empowering Women and Youth to Reduce Vulnerabilities and Promote Peace in Somalia project, led by IOM and supported by Japan, focuses on rehabilitation and resilience for communities impacted by violent extremism. Under Outcome 2, IOM’s Co-Funding Mechanism enables joint community-IOM ownership of small-scale infrastructure projects. In Jubaland State’s Farjanno community (Kismayo District), local groups prioritized rehabilitating a 750-meter access road to improve mobility and cohesion. An Engineering Assessment Report highlighted severe erosion and drainage issues, recommending repairs and side drains. IOM is prequalifying local construction providers registered and operating in Kismayo, with preference for district-based contractors to boost local involvement and economic empowerment.
