United Nations Procurement Division (UNPD) will shortly be issuing an Invitation to Bid (ITB) to establish a contract with a qualified vendor for supply and installation of upholstery for the United Nations Headquarters complex conference rooms on an 'as-required basis'. The Contractor is to provide qualified upholstery Mechanics and all required tools, materials and equipment for the installation of Upholstery throughout the United Nations Headquarters complex conference rooms on an 'as-required' basis for the period of the contract It is anticipated that all chairs in any one room would be reupholstered at the same time, and that the Contractor would be able work in the room during normal business hours. Location: The United Nations Headquarters complex occupies a total of approximately 2,600,000 square feet (owned or leased) distributed among various premises in New York City. The main premises are located in Mid town Manhattan at 405 East 42nd Street, New York,NY 10017. U.S.A. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: In response to the ITB document (to be issued at a later date), vendors will be expected to demonstrate: 1. A minimum of three (3) contracts completed successfully in the last three (3) years with respect to upholstery-related services with associated client references. 2. Attendence at a mandatory site visit/bidders conference to be held on the UN premises prior to the submission date for bids to assess site conditions and identify any issues bidders may have pertaining to the requirement of the Scope of Work (SOW).
