It is anticipated that the International Criminal Court (hereafter referred to as the ICC) located in The Hague, The Netherlands, will shortly be issuing a solicitation for the provision of ICC Backup and Archive Storage Replacement. In this connection, the ICC is requesting expressions of interest from qualified firms.   Brief Scope of Work   Current situation ICC makes use of a tiered storage structure to separate its production data, archives, online and offline backups The ICC currently has Commvault performing roughly 85TB of Archival and 305TB of Backup data. All these figures are on a net basis, and consider the compression being done by the backup solutions but not the replication of data or other data storage optimization techniques.   Target situation The experience with the FastLTA storage has performed below ICC’s expectations, therefore it expects to take advantage of the lifecycle refresh for the backup solution and replace it with one more fit for the purpose of storing backups and archives. The ICC would like to take advantage of new technology and maintenance paradigms that increase performance and diminish maintenance effort. The target solution should be of modular architecture that allows for horizontal growth and optimizes lifecycle management. Commvault is still expected to be used as the main backup software, with other backup software being exceptionally used for specific workloads.
