1. Background The Publications and Conference Management Section (PCMS) of the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) is responsible for the design, layout, and printing of major reports, publications, and communications materials. These requests, coming from various substantive divisions and external UN entities (on a cost-recovery basis), often involve tight production timelines. Given the limited in-house design capacity, PCMS seeks to establish a long-term agreement (LTA) with a potential graphic design firm to provide these services over a period of three years. The initial contract period will be one year, renewable annually for up to two additional years, subject to satisfactory performance and mutual agreement. 2. Scope of work and tasks The contracted firm will be responsible for providing high-quality graphic design and layout services, including but not limited to: • Designing publications using established ECA visual identity standards, including cover design, layout of text, and formatting of boxes, tables, figures, and charts. • Creating initial concepts and mockups for publication designs. • Reviewing and correcting layouts to ensure visual consistency, brand adherence, and errorfree output. • Developing identity packages for various ECA initiatives (logos, letterheads, folders, posters, etc.). • Managing production timelines and coordination with ECA staff and external printers, including scheduling, status tracking, and review processes. The details of the requirement will be available during the RFP solicitation process.
