The purpose of this work assignment is to develop within the context of the South African Council for Educators Act 31 of 2000, current policies of the South African Council for Educators (SACE) as well as other relevant policies, strategies and procedures for the professional regulation of ECD educators and practitioners Objectives of the work assignment The specific objectives of the work assignment are (please note that although indicated separate as objectives, these inter-relates within the wider legislative and regulatory mandate of SACE: To develop policy framework and recommendations for the requirements for the registration of early learning (ECD) educators and practitioners with SACE. To develop the policy framework and recommendations on minimum requirements for the education and training of early learning (ECD) educators and practitioners recognised by SACE for the purpose of registration to practice. To develop policy framework and recommendations for the professional code of ethics of early learning (ECD) educators and practitioners with due consideration of the existing code of ethics.
