Call for External Collaborator – Economist to evaluate relationships between freedom of association and collective bargaining and the risks of child and forced labour: Mapping and evaluation of survey data, contributing to conceptual framework.

ProcureProcess - ILO Others Non Governmental 2025-07-25 to 2025-07-31
Dear Bidder, The International Labour Office (ILO) is looking for an individual to undertake work as an External Collaborator. Below is a summary of the work to be performed: This consultancy is part of a research project that will review available evidence and literature on the relationship between freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining (FACB) and the effective abolition of child and forced labour. This includes looking at the role workers’ and employers’ organizations may play, individually and jointly, and under which conditions, in reducing the risks of child and forced labour. The findings of the project will allow for better targeted research on FACB in relation to approaches to address child labour and forced labour and help inform efforts towards this end. In particular, the consultancy will involve the mapping and analysis of survey microdata, contributing to the development of a robust conceptual and theoretical framework and methodological approach to undertake broader empirical study and interventions on the relationship between the exercise of FACB rights and child labour and forced labour. Please note that if travel is required for this assignment, the necessary travel costs will be covered by the ILO. If you are interested, please express interest and follow the instructions attached to consult the detailed terms of reference and other relevant information in the ILO e-sourcing platform. Please submit your proposal before the specified deadline. Thank you.
