UNRWA intends to engage a consultancy company (hereafter, the Consultant) to: 1. Carry out on-site energy audits and baseline assessments for approximately 200 sites distributed across all fields of operation including LFO, JFO, SFO, and WBFO with a minimum of twenty-five sites per field. Following international standards (e.g., ISO 50000), the goal is to establish an energy consumption baseline, understand the energy needs of our premises and propose energy efficiency measures; 2. Recommend pre-design and/or design of renewable energy systems including installations guidance, training and preparing integrated techno-economic business cases; 3. Assess the adequacy, integrity and safety of existing electrical systems, recommend and design any necessary upgrades. 4. Provide sustainability support to UNRWA’s supervision team to ensure project activities are carried out professionally, efficiently, and in compliance with standards and regulations. Through this consultancy, UNRWA seeks to achieve a transformative shift in energy management, integrating renewable technologies, enhancing design frameworks, and building institutional capacity for long-term sustainability. The SMART Team will provide relevant background data and information on the sites before the in-person assessments to maximize the efficiency of the consultant company’s time on the ground.
