Purpose of the Request: The Office of Investment Management (OIM) of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) is requesting information from potential vendors regarding their Private Markets - Alternative Assets investment management applications. Our primary focus is on Portfolio Monitoring and Deal Flow Management capabilites for OIM’s portfolio of Priavte Equity, Private Credit, Real Estate, Real Assets held in limited partnership funds as well as co-investments. Support for direct investment may be a future requirement. The solution should support the private markets investment team’s requirements for global multi currency capabilites to track the investment opportunity pipeline and monitor investment portfolio holdings covering the following requirements: 1) Deal Flow Management a) Ability to track investment opportunities, manager research, and related details though the investment deal pipeline b) Ability to compare unlimited characteristics of multiple opportunities c) Ability for free form commentary allowing for graphs and charts to be part of commentary d) Ability to track opportunities by: Potential deals/actual investments, Date received, Status, Stage, Priority, Origin/Source (i.e. broker name), Terms, Sponsor, funded/unfunded, Funding remaining, etc. e) Ability for OIM to establish their own opportunity stages f) Ability to establish user alerts – outlining alerts that are available for deal tracking (e.g. all workflow tasks that are not complete prior to advancing to the next deal stage, deal not moved from a stage for “n” days, etc.) g) Ability to manage user access control and report change control logs noting: users, data modified, time/date stamps etc. h) Ability to store and manage deal related documents and ability to search documents by name and/or content i) Ability to track contacts and related contact details associated with a given deal/opportunity 2) Investment Book of Record (IBOR) a) Ability to provide an investment managers view of the portfolio holdings with the portfolio record keeping positions and investment data analytics necessary to manage the portfolio of funds and holdings on both the laged and current view of the postions and valuations. b) Ability to support accounting entries, holdings, cash, and transaction data c) Abiity to reconcile data including transactions, cash, holdings and positions with third party systems and portfolio record keeping providers. 3) Portfolio Monitoring a) Ability to support all of OIM private markets asset classes within a single solution b) Strong capability for portfolio construction, modelling, tracking, monitoring, and analytics both pre & post investment c) Ability to track ownership of each investor participating in a fund d) Ability to not only lever standard validation rules but customized validation rules e) Ability to lever industry identifiers and OIM unique identifiers while preventing assigning a different identifier to the same portfolio company f) Ability to have unlimited number of investments that a portfolio company can be assigned g) Ability to modify reference data via a user interface and data interface h) Ability to store historic valuation data Ability to ingest third party investment data and analytics j) Ability to assign user definded transaction types k) Ability to support and configure multiple fee calculations 4) Dynamic Decision Support and Report Creation a) Ability to provide portfolio overview customizable dashboards with graphical visualizations and reporting suitable for investment team members, investment committee, and management b) Ability to perform scenario analysis (“what-if” position changes, new holdings, market factors, and historical periods) c) Ability to view the portfolio and create create reports, including but not limited to: i) Comentary such as market overview and outlook ii) Allocation and exposure breakdown by geography, strategy and industry, based on fund/investment/deal level iii) Audit trail of updates on each fund/investment iv) Listing of each fund/investment by strategy v) Date of commitment to each fund vi) Commitment amount to each fund vii) Drawdown amounts by fund viii) Outstanding commitment by fund ix) Distribution amounts by fund x) Fund net asset values xi) IRR and TWR and multiples (TVPI, RVPI, DPI) and J-Curves by each fund, by asset class, by investment, etc. xii) Peer universe comparisons over various time periods xiii) Unfunded commitment allocated to drawn subscription lines by fund xiv) Vinatge Year xv) Valuations by total fund, each fund, asset class, investment, etc. xvi) Cashflows xvii) Exposure analysis by investment characteristics 5) Data Collection a) Ability to offer limited partnership data and document collection services necessary to support ingesting and appropriately categorgizing private market holdings, transactions, cash flows, expenses, and fee data in support of limited partnership accounting and recordkeeping. b) Ability to offer managed services, or integrate with a third party provider, for data collection and validation of limited partnership fund holdings to support look through to underlying LP fund level investment holdings and related asset class specific metrics (i.e. support for LP fund transparency services). c) Ability to support unstructured data collection and data interface standards (ILPA, etc.) d) Ability to interface to a deal flow application for new opportunity / fund onboarding e) Ability to ingest investment data and asset class specific analytics 6) Other features of intrest a) Excel integration for import/export b) API for import/export of data from/to third parties c) Ability for users to personalize displays d) Support for mobile access to the solution e) Company roadmap of upcoming new features, enhancements, and innovations f) Hosted, SaaS or Cloud native deployment g) Utilization of AI to extratct data from unstructured data h) Solution has proven track record with asset owners similar to OIM
