The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations with more than 190 member countries. Since its inception, FAO has worked to improve nutrition, increase agricultural productivity, raise the standard of living in rural populations and contribute to global economic growth. Achieving food security for all is at the heart of FAO's efforts – to make sure people have regular access to enough high-quality food to lead active, healthy lives. As part of this effort, the FAO Regional Office for Africa is organizing a twofold workshop, which aims to build the capacity of FAO water professionals and gender focal points (from sub-regional and country offices) on gender integration in water resource management programs and application of gender transformative approaches. The workshop also aims to bring gender and water professionals together to review and improve a draft guideline on ‘Gender Sensitive Rainwater Harvesting’ under development by the Water Development and Management Unit. In this regard, the FAO Regional Office for Africa wishes to identify a 3 or 4-Star UNDSS cleared hotel to provide conference package and accommodation services within Akosombo or Ada. Please refer to the attached Invitation to Bid (ITB) document for detailed Information.
