ProcureProcess - WHO Others Non Governmental 2025-10-02 to 2025-10-10
Purpose of the Agreement for Performance of Work The APW will support the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport in collaboration with WHO Cambodia to prepare for and collection data for the Global School-based Student Health Survey (GSHS) in Cambodia. Background The Global School-based Student Health Survey (GSHS) is a collaborative surveillance designed to help countries measure and assess the behavioural risk factors and protective factors in 10 key areas among young people aged 13 to 17 years. The GSHS is a relatively low-cost school-based survey which uses a self-administered questionnaire to obtain data on young people's health behaviour and protective factors related to the leading causes of morbidity and mortality among children and adults worldwide. The survey will provide important information for policymakers, public health practitioners, and school administrators to: identify priorities and understand if school health policies or programs address the key public health issues and if schools are implementing policies and practices with effectiveness evidence. help countries develop priorities, establish programmes, and advocate for resources to support the implementation of school health policies and youth health programmes. allow international agencies, countries, and others to make comparisons across countries regarding the prevalence of health behaviours and protective factors among adolescence and establish trends in the prevalence of health behaviours and protective factors by country for use in evaluation of school health and youth health promotion. The GSHS is a school-based survey conducted primarily among students aged 13–17 years using a standardized scientific sample selection process, common school-based methodology and self-administered questionnaire, which can be completed during one regular class period. Countries develop their country-specific questionnaire using the standardized core and core-expanded questions, to which they may add. Cambodia last undertook the GSHS in 2013 employing a two-stage cluster sample design to produce a representative sample of students from all public schools.
