The purpose of this assignment is to design and implement a national AI in the South African Basic Education Process to build shared understanding, including existing efforts by the DBE and the public education sector, stimulate informed dialogue, and generate actionable recommendations at the national level to guide the basic education sector’s response to AI. Raise awareness of AI’s implications for South African basic education. Build a shared, evidence-informed understanding of risks and opportunities. Generate actionable knowledge to inform decision-making and investment. Mobilise cross-sector, contextually relevant responses for equity and inclusion.
